Coach Alonso responds to Yamal's negative remarks about Real

Coach Xabi Alonso has addressed Lamine Yamal following the player's shocking comments targeting Real Madrid.

Ahead of the first El Clasico of the 2025/26 season, Lamine Yamal ignited controversy by belittling Real Madrid. This triggered dissatisfaction among the Royal team players and the Spanish media, who criticized the young star born in 2007.

However, in the pre-match press conference, Coach Xabi Alonso admitted he was not particularly concerned about Yamal's remarks, affirming that Real would focus fully on achieving a positive result.

Specifically, the Spanish strategist stated: "I don't want to delve deeply into that matter. There have been numerous statements from Barcelona, and we can't comment on each one individually. The most important thing is what happens on the pitch, the path we have taken, the challenges ahead, and how the entire team expresses their style of play. That is what truly matters, and what we are focusing on preparing for.

The core lies within us, in the quality and collective strength. Additionally, there are specific plans for each phase of the match, both with and without the ball. The team must maintain cohesion, manage pressure effectively, and keep proper spacing between lines. These are the key factors that help us aim for stability and consistency in performance."

Meanwhile, Alonso highlighted individual player Kylian Mbappe, the current top scorer in La Liga, along with his teammates, who are steadily improving to deliver maximum effectiveness in matches, especially in his first Superclásico as a coach.

The 43-year-old coach added: "I believe Mbappe is maintaining excellent form, and the whole team is highly motivated. We fully understand the significance of this game and our strong desire to win.

All players have recovered physically after the Juventus match, including Rael Asencio. Everything is ready for tomorrow. Currently, we are focused on enhancing performance efficiency, helping him maximize his abilities and make the greatest impact within the squad.

Currently, Real Madrid temporarily leads the standings with 24 points, two points ahead of second-placed Barca. Therefore, a victory at Bernabeu could allow Los Blancos to create a significant gap from their main rival, taking a big step toward reclaiming the throne from their opponent.
