Coach Kim Sang Sik received a shocking blow just before the Vietnam National Team's gathering.

Accordingly, the Vietnam National Team has another player suffering a serious injury, that is Võ Hoàng Minh Khoa.

On the evening of October 25, although Becamex TPHCM took an early lead, they lost the match to Hanoi FC with a score of 2-3. In this game, the home team at Gò Đậu Stadium did not have their strongest lineup as both Minh Trọng and Minh Khoa were absent.

At the post-match press conference, coach Đặng Trần Chỉnh revealed the situation regarding Minh Khoa: "We currently lack enough players and have to make do with what we have to form the best possible team," Coach Chỉnh said. "If we don’t accept this reality, it’s hard to perform effectively. For Minh Khoa’s position, we can use someone else as a replacement. Today, I assigned Việt Cường to take on that role.

Minh Khoa underwent an MRI scan, and doctors estimate about three-quarters of his cruciate ligament is torn. Initially, we will rest him for one month to monitor natural recovery. If there is no improvement, surgery will be necessary,"Coach Đặng Trần Chỉnh disclosed.

In the 2025/26 season, Becamex TPHCM faces compounded difficulties with many key players injured. Before Minh Khoa, the team also lost striker Bùi Vĩ Hào for similar reasons.

Regarding this match, Coach Đặng Trần Chỉnh shared: "Football is inherently unpredictable. In reality, both teams played well and deserved the win and loss results. My players gave their all today, but unfortunately couldn’t capitalize on chances in the final minutes. Especially, missing the second-half penalty greatly affected the team’s morale. "Winning and losing are normal in sports. I am satisfied with the players’ mental progress. In the last two away games against Nam Định and Thanh Hóa, we were not inferior. To improve, the team needs to add higher-quality foreign players to elevate our style," Coach Chỉnh added.

"With our current thin squad and injuries to key players, aiming for the top 3 is quite challenging. My strategy now is to focus on one match at a time, carefully accumulating points without putting too much pressure,"the coach and team leader of Becamex TPHCM admitted.
