Former player Jamie Redknapp shared a positive outlook on MU's future, affirming that the club can regain its previous peak position.
Recently, MU secured a 4-2 victory over Brighton in the 9th round of the 2025/26 Premier League. Witnessing MU's performance this season, the former England international Jamie Redknapp commented: "Manchester United will become a major force again if they continue to perform as they have in recent matches. Of course, they need to maintain this consistent form and push even harder moving forward."
The home win against Brighton lifted MU to 4th place with 16 points, just 3 points behind league leaders Arsenal but having played one more game. According to Redknapp, MU is on the right track under the leadership of bold decision-makers like Sir Jim Ratcliffe, whose involvement has brought positive changes in management, facilities, and transfer strategy.
Redknapp emphasized:"This is the Manchester United that fans want to see. It's been a long time since we've witnessed MU playing this well. Their progress is evident through recent wins and strategic signings that have strengthened the squad. Why can't they dream of a top 4 finish this season? If they return to the Champions League next season, Manchester United will quickly reclaim their status."
By defeating Brighton, this marks the first time in 2025 that Manchester United has scored 4 goals in a Premier League match. It is also the first time since February 2024 that MU has won three consecutive Premier League games.
Meanwhile, former captain Gary Neville highlighted the impressive performances of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha as key factors in Manchester United's excellent run, also noting that the team is gradually rediscovering the successful formula under Ruben Amorim.
When asked what still makes him hesitant to fully trust Manchester United at this moment, Neville responded quickly: “I believe it’s about consistency. For a long time, this has been a team that often disappoints and is hard to fully trust. Winning 2 or 3 games in a row doesn’t erase that. Trust can’t be rebuilt overnight. But I feel something is starting to take shape here. To me, that’s a sign of positivity and hope.”
Neville considers the signings of Mbeumo and Cunha as wise investments by the management, especially under coach Ruben Amorim: "There are many reasons to feel reassured and optimistic about these signings. Looking at Mbeumo now, he truly belongs to this team, full of energy and eager to score."
