The Vietnam women's national team is set to have two friendly games with the Ho Chi Minh City women's club, a team featuring Huỳnh Như along with various other national team members.
Entering the second week of their third 2025 training camp at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the national women's team, led by head coach Mai Đức Chung, continues to focus on advanced fitness combined with tactical and technical drills to best prepare for SEA Games 33.
Coach Mai Đức Chung stated that the national women's team is expected to play two friendly matches against the Ho Chi Minh City women's club (currently training at the center in preparation for the 2025/26 AFC Women's Club Championship) on November 1st and 4th. The weather in Hanoi at the end of October is quite favorable for training, with an average temperature around 20°C, helping players maintain good physical condition and high spirits during each session.
It is known that the Ho Chi Minh City women's club has a total of seven members called up, including two coaches: Head Coach Đoàn Thị Kim Chi and Goalkeeping Coach Nguyễn Thị Kim Hồng. The remaining five players are Nguyễn Thị Huỳnh Như, Cù Thị Huỳnh Như, Quách Thu Em, Chương Thị Kiều, and Trần Thị Thu Thảo.
However, due to commitments in the 2025/2026 AFC Women's Club Championship, Huỳnh Như and these players will join the Vietnam women's national team on November 20th. Therefore, in the upcoming friendly match, Huỳnh Như will wear the Ho Chi Minh City women's club jersey to compete against her teammates from the national team. This promises to be a very exciting game.
These seven members of the Ho Chi Minh City women's club will join the Vietnam women's national team on November 20th, just before the entire squad departs for training in Japan. These are key players for the national team but, due to their club schedule participating in the AFC Women's Champions League, they will join the team about a month later than the rest.
According to the plan, from November 20th, the women's national team will travel to Japan for training and is expected to play three friendly matches against clubs chosen by the Japan Football Association to match the coaching staff's tactical ideas. After the training camp, the team will return to Ho Chi Minh City to acclimate to weather conditions similar to Thailand’s before heading to compete in SEA Games 33.
