Coach Dang Tran Chinh acknowledges the team has several problems and personally mentions candidates who could replace him at Becamex TP.HCM from 2026 onwards.
After the 2-3 loss to Hanoi FC in round 8 of the 2025/26 V.League on the evening of October 25, Coach Dang Tran Chinh of Becamex TP.HCM openly discussed the team's situation. Surprisingly, he also suggested which figures the club should consider for long-term leadership.
Notably, Coach Dang Tran Chinh revealed that the club is searching for a new head coach who meets the Pro license standard. “I have been away from coaching for 2 years. The board needed me to come back, but according to regulations, the head coach from 2026 must hold a Pro license, so I can only serve until the end of this season. Currently, Vietnamese football has many young coaches with Pro licenses who are eager. To support Becamex TP.HCM, I think of Nguyen Thanh Cong, Quoc Anh, and Hua Hien Vinh,” he shared, pointing out potential replacements for himself.
Regarding the match result, Mr. Chinh considers winning and losing as normal occurrences. “The players performed very well. I am happy to see their progress,” he said, also expressing satisfaction with the team's effort despite not securing the points they hoped for.
He candidly assessed that the pre-season goal of finishing in the top 3 for Becamex TP.HCM would be tough to achieve. The reasons, according to him, include a lack of squad depth, uneven quality, and a constantly patched lineup. Additionally, the team recently suffered a blow when key midfielder Vo Hoang Minh Khoa sustained a 3/4 ligament tear, requiring at least a month off and possibly surgery.
“I noticed previously the players were not comfortable and didn’t feel free during training and daily life. When they are relaxed, they perform much better,” Coach Dang Tran Chinh commented after the match, emphasizing that a comfortable environment is crucial for players to showcase their abilities.
Currently, after 8 rounds, Becamex TP.HCM is ranked 8th with 7 points. Although the season is still long, the team has much work to do to improve performance and aim for higher goals, while Coach Dang Tran Chinh will complete his duties for the remainder of the season.
