Nam Định's sudden bad news just before the match against Đà Nẵng

Many of the main players from Nam Định became sick and had fevers immediately before the match with Đà Nẵng. Coach Trung Kiên decided to field the fittest players available.

At 18:00 on the evening of October 27, the Steel Blue Nam Định Club hosted SHB Đà Nẵng in the 8th round of the V-League at their home stadium. This was seen as a great chance for the Nam Định team to secure 3 points after their disappointing loss to Becamex TPHCM in round 7. Notably, this match also marked the debut of the new head coach Nguyễn Trung Kiên, so the home team was more determined than ever to win.

However, just before kickoff, the home team received unfortunate news as several players were suffering from fever and previous injuries, making them unable to play. Notable absences included striker Kyle Hudlin, midfielders Romulo, Tuấn Anh, Hồng Duy, Caio Cesar, and Percy Tau. This information was confirmed by the Nam Định club on their official website.

According to the lineup, coach Nguyễn Trung Kiên fielded only two foreign players for this match: central defender Lucas Alves and striker Brenner. On the bench, Romulo was the only foreign player listed as a substitute. The starting eleven for Nam Định included goalkeeper Nguyên Mạnh; defenders Lucas Alves, Văn Tới, Văn Vĩ; midfielders A Mít, Văn Đạt, Văn Vũ, Lâm Ti Phông, Văn Công; and forwards Ngọc Sơn and Brenner.

The reigning V-League champions are facing a major crisis this season, having continuously delivered poor results domestically. After 7 rounds, they have only accumulated 7 points and sit 9th on the league table. In contrast, their international form under coach Vũ Hồng Việt (now replaced by Trung Kiên) has been somewhat better.
