Last night, Man United’s official website announced the Player of the Month for October based on fan voting. It’s no surprise that Bryan Mbeumo claimed this honor.
October was a highly successful month for Man United. They consecutively defeated tough Premier League opponents such as Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton. With three straight wins, Man United climbed to 6th place in the league table, earning 16 points after 9 matches.
Mbeumo’s contribution cannot be overlooked during the Red Devils’ impressive run. He was involved in all three victories, helping the team regain their status in the Premier League race. In the 2-0 win over Sunderland, Mbeumo stood out by providing a precise assist to Mason Mount for the opening goal. A week later, he stunned the Anfield crowd by scoring against Liverpool within just over a minute, playing a crucial role in United’s thrilling 2-1 victory.
His brilliance continued as the Cameroonian star scored a brace in the 4-2 triumph against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford. This outstanding form not only earned him full trust from coach Amorim but also secured his spot on the shortlist for the Premier League’s Player of the Month for October, as well as the title of Man United’s best player of the month.
Regarding the voting results for Man United’s Player of the Month in October, Mbeumo received 67% of the total votes, far ahead of teammates like Senne Lammens (21%), Matthijs de Ligt (8%), and Matheus Cunha (4%). This overwhelming percentage reflects the strong support from fans, especially after witnessing Mbeumo’s fighting spirit, speed, and ability to create chances for the attack.
This marks the second time this season that the Cameroonian striker has earned this accolade, having previously been honored in August shortly after his arrival at Old Trafford from Brentford. It took only a few weeks for Mbeumo to integrate and quickly become a key piece in the attacking system that coach Ruben Amorim is developing.
Besides Mbeumo’s award, Manchester United also revealed the Goal of the Month for October, awarded to captain Harry Maguire. The English defender made his mark with a header against Liverpool following a beautiful one-touch pass from Bruno Fernandes. That goal not only secured a valuable 3 points but also symbolized the team’s resilience and hunger for victory.
Currently, Man United will start November facing Nottingham Forest, a team they have lost to in their last three encounters. However, this also presents an opportunity for Mbeumo and Man United to extend their impressive form, especially as Nottingham Forest is currently struggling, sitting 18th in the Premier League standings.
