Mbappe sincerely speaks about Real Madrid after winning the Golden Shoe

Striker Kylian Mbappe showed his love for the Real Madrid jersey after receiving the European Golden Shoe trophy.

On October 31st, during a special ceremony held at the Bernabeu, the forward Kylian Mbappe personally accepted the European Golden Shoe award for the 2024/25 season.

The French superstar scored 31 goals in La Liga during his first season wearing the Real Madrid shirt, earning this prestigious individual honor from the European Sports Media (ESM) for the first time in his career.

Speaking upon receiving the award for the first time, Mbappe stated: "I am deeply honored to receive the Golden Shoe. This moment means a lot to me as it is my first time winning this award, and it brings me special emotions as a striker."

With 31 goals in La Liga, Mbappe accumulated a total of 62 points, surpassing Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP (58.5 points) and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool (58 points) to top the rankings.

Previously, the award was claimed by Harry Kane in the 2023/24 season, Erling Haaland in 2022/23, and Robert Lewandowski in the two seasons before that.

After a brilliant start with Real Madrid under coach Xabi Alonso, achieving 12 wins in 13 matches across all competitions, Mbappe thanked his teammates for their crucial contributions to his success and declared his ambition to win major titles with Los Blancos this season.

The 2018 World Cup winner said: "We have an amazing squad. I hope the team will secure great trophies this season because the collective success is what truly matters. I look forward to staying with the club for many years and having more chances to win awards like this."

Real Madrid currently leads La Liga by five points following a victory over their archrivals Barcelona in last weekend’s El Clasico. They will host Valencia at home this weekend.

Mbappe added: “I hope the team continues to maintain this level of performance because, as I always say, the team is the most important factor. Without my teammates, I wouldn’t be able to achieve these honors.

I fully understand this and want to thank the club, medical staff, and coaching team for their constant support on and off the pitch. I hope to win this award again next year, as I have had a very strong start!”

Mbappe currently leads the scoring charts in both La Liga and the Champions League, marking the most impressive start of his career. This is the superstar born in 1998’s first Golden Shoe, a remarkable achievement. In Real Madrid’s history, only three players have accomplished this: Hugo Sanchez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Ronaldo Nazario.
