Xuan Son - Hoang Hen to join Vietnam National Team in November

Apart from Xuan Son, it is very probable that Hoang Hen will be summoned to the Vietnam National Team as early as November.

As previously reported, Xuan Son will be called up to the Vietnam National Team this November despite the naturalized striker just recovering from injury. He has fully recovered 100%, and his return will be very meaningful for the national team at this stage.

However, Xuan Son might not be the only naturalized player called up to the Vietnam National Team in November. It is very likely that Do Hoang Hen (Hendrio) will also be invited to join the squad, even though he is not yet eligible to play in the match against Laos. The Brazilian-born midfielder will have the chance to get familiar with his national teammates and work with coach Kim Sang Sik.

Do Hoang Hen officially obtained Vietnamese citizenship on October 17. The duo Hoang Hen and Xuan Son are set to reunite on the Vietnam National Team this November. However, while Xuan Son may be able to play, Hoang Hen is currently not eligible to wear the national jersey.

It was coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnam Football Federation who requested support for Hendrio’s naturalization. This shows that the Korean strategist wants Do Hoang Hen to serve the Vietnam National Team. Still, Hoang Hen needs to prove his abilities first.

The Vietnam Football Federation will soon submit documents and handle procedures for Hendrio to FIFA to request permission for Do Hoang Hen to play for the Vietnam National Team. Thus, Hendrio will debut for Vietnam, possibly as soon as March 2026 if called up by coach Kim Sang Sik. He will officially be eligible to represent Vietnam starting January 2026.

The foreign duo who once terrorized the V-League while playing for Nam Dinh Club, Rafaelson and Hendrio, are preparing to reunite in the Vietnam National Team under new names Xuan Son and Hoang Hen. The synergy and harmony in the playing style of Xuan Son and Hoang Hen are expected to significantly strengthen Vietnam’s attack when both can play together in March 2026 against Malaysia.
