South Korean coach makes surprising remarks about U23 Vietnam star at Thanh Hoa

Coach Choi Won Kwon mentioned that Lê Văn Thuận must work harder to advance his skills independently.

In the late match of round 9 in the V-League on the evening of November 2, Thanh Hoa Club failed to cause an upset against The Cong Viettel, suffering a 0-1 defeat. Facing a squad with depth, the home team focused on solid defense in the first half, making it difficult for the visitors. However, Đinh Viết Tú’s shining moment in the 31st minute changed everything.

After the match, Coach Choi Won Kwon commented:"The Cong Viettel played better, especially in the first half. If we hadn’t conceded early, there was still a chance to earn points. In the second half, although we created chances,the players’ failure to capitalize on them was the main reason for the loss."

"Professionalism is reflected in the results. Văn Thuận has ability, but without self-effort, he cannot improve. I gave him a chance not because of his form, but because the team had no other options,"the Korean strategist added about Lê Văn Thuận.

According to Coach Choi Won Kwon, Thanh Hoa is facing continuous difficulties with many injured players. Nevertheless, the whole team is determined for the next match against HAGL — a direct relegation rival: "Every week more players get injured. We will try our best to win, even though we know HAGL is very strong at home."
