Erling Haaland has become the third player to score two or more goals in four consecutive home Premier League matches, following the achievements of Robbie Fowler and Luis Suarez.
Haaland’s return after being rested in the Carabao Cup immediately made a significant impact. In Manchester City's 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Etihad, the Norwegian striker once again demonstrated why he is Europe’s most feared goal-scoring machine by netting a brace to secure all three points and keep City close to Arsenal in the title race.
With two goals against Bournemouth, Haaland reached a historic milestone when he became the third player in Premier League history to score two or more goals in four consecutive home games, standing alongside legends Robbie Fowler (1995–96) and Luis Suárez (2013). Prior to this, the 24-year-old striker had scored doubles against Manchester United, Burnley, and Everton, showcasing an incredible consistency in front of goal.
The win over Bournemouth not only boosted Haaland’s confidence but also propelled Manchester City to second place in the Premier League table with 19 points from 10 matches, just six points behind Arsenal. Although the gap remains significant, with their resilience and squad depth, Pep Guardiola’s team remains a strong contender for the title. It’s worth remembering that in the last three seasons, Arsenal has twice faltered against Man City at crucial stages of the two-horse race.
After 10 rounds, Erling Haaland has scored 13 goals, just short of his own extraordinary start last season (15 goals after 10 matches). This performance places Haaland firmly at the top of the Premier League 2025/26 scoring charts, far ahead of last season’s top scorer Mohamed Salah, who has only 4 goals so far.
Across all competitions, including appearances for the Norwegian national team, Haaland has scored 26 goals in just the first three months of the season. Among Europe’s top strikers, only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane maintains a similar scoring rate. However, unlike Haaland, Kane’s team has won every match so far, highlighting an exciting “Golden Boot” race crossing borders.
Haaland’s endurance, physical strength, and natural goal-scoring instincts make him a nightmare for any defense. Given his current form, breaking his own Premier League records is only a matter of time. Every time Haaland steps onto the pitch, it’s not just a game but a showcase of records and history in the making.
