U17 World Cup 2025 will be hosted in Qatar from November 3 to 27, 2025, marking the first time this country hosts the tournament and the third occasion a Arab nation stages the event. Qatar will serve as the host for five consecutive editions from 2025 to 2029, under FIFA’s new annual hosting cycle. The competition will feature 48 teams divided into 12 groups of 4 teams each, playing in a single round-robin format.
The tournament format includes a group stage where the top two teams from each group plus the eight best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout rounds, starting from the round of 32 through to the final. If knockout matches end in a draw after regular time, the winner will be decided by penalty shootouts.
A total of 104 matches will be played, doubling the number from previous editions due to the expansion. This will be the 20th U17 World Cup, with Germany as the defending champions and Africa as the most successful continent with seven titles.
Indonesia U17 is the only Southeast Asian team to qualify for the U17 World Cup 2025 finals after an impressive group stage performance. Based on the seeding results, the Indonesian team is placed in pot 3, avoiding strong opponents such as Canada U17, Austria U17, Ivory Coast U17, and South Africa U17.
In the early hours of May 26, FIFA announced the group draw results for the U17 World Cup 2025 finals. Southeast Asia’s representative, Indonesia U17, was drawn into Group H alongside Brazil U17, Honduras U17, and Zambia U17.
