In Falkirk's 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock last weekend, Ethan Williams - the 19-year-old loaned out by Manchester United scored the opening goal in the 7th minute and assisted the third goal for his teammate Calvin Miller. Williams shared after the game: “We have won three of our last four games, and the team spirit is very high. It feels like we are world champions right now.” He appeared confident and happy as he began to find consistent form in Scotland.

Joining Falkirk on loan from Manchester United during the 2025 summer transfer window, Williams quickly proved his worth. In eight appearances, he scored four goals and provided three assists, playing a key role in helping the newly promoted side climb to fifth place in the league standings - level on points with the giants Rangers.

Falkirk’s coach John McGlynn praised the young English player highly: “His ability and pace are truly frightening. The way Williams handles situations, reads the game, and supports teammates on the left wing constantly puts the opposing defense on high alert.”

“This is my second loan spell, and everything is going very well. I want to keep developing, scoring goals, and helping the team achieve the best results,” Williams said in an interview with BBC Scotland.

At 19, Williams is showing remarkable growth both technically and mentally. His impressive displays in Scotland have convinced Manchester United’s coaching staff that he could return to Old Trafford in 2026 ready to compete for a spot in the first team.

Experts in England call him a “promising raw gem” from the Carrington academy - a player with a strong, decisive, and energetic style reminiscent of Marcus Rashford in his early days.

With his current form, Ethan Williams is not only helping Falkirk flourish but also making Manchester United fans believe that a future star is gradually emerging on Scottish soil.
