Top Earners in the Five Major Leagues: Three Superstar Strikers Occupy Top 3 Spots, Juventus Substitute Ranks 6th, Casemiro 7th

Transfermarkt Germany analyzed the annual salaries of players across Europe's top five leagues. Among the top ten earners, the three leading scorers—who have been outstanding this season and have claimed the European Golden Shoe over the last three years—hold the top three spots. Juventus's reserve striker is sixth, and Casemiro from Manchester United is tied for seventh. Notably, half of these players are currently in contract years.

Top 10 Highest Paid Players in the Five Major Leagues (Pre-Tax):

• 1st: Erling Haaland, Manchester City/Premier League, annual salary of €31.7 million.
• 2nd: Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid/La Liga, annual salary of €31.3 million.
• 3rd: Harry Kane, Bayern Munich/Bundesliga, annual salary of €25 million.
• 4th: Mohamed Salah, Liverpool/Premier League, annual salary of €24.1 million.
• 5th: David Alaba, Real Madrid/La Liga, annual salary of €22.5 million.
• 6th: Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus/Serie A, annual salary of €22.2 million.

Among the top ten highest-paid players in the five major leagues, the three forwards Haaland, Mbappé, and Kane have been scoring prolifically this season. Liverpool’s veterans Salah and Van Dijk have experienced a significant decline in form after renewing their contracts. Real Madrid defender Alaba has become injury-prone, while Juventus forward Vlahovic serves as a backup striker. Both Alaba and Vlahovic are in the final year of their contracts and are expected to leave after this season, allowing Real Madrid and Juventus to offload high-earning players.

Casemiro is also in the last year of his contract and currently is a key midfielder for Manchester United, showing signs of improvement this season. With a salary cut, he could remain and continue to contribute significantly. Neuer is similarly in a contract year, and at 39 years old, this season might mark the end of his career. Lewandowski is also in a contract year; his form has declined sharply this season, and Barcelona is unlikely to renew his contract.
