After being summoned to the Vietnam national squad for the November FIFA Days, forward Nguyễn Xuân Son delivered a strong warning to his opponents.

Following months away due to injury, naturalized striker Nguyễn Xuân Son ignited social media by posting a photo from the AFF Cup 2024 final against Thailand, accompanied by a cryptic caption. On his personal page, Xuân Son shared an image of himself fiercely contesting possession amid a swarm of Thai players, with a brief caption: “I’m hungry”Just two words, yet they express everything — the deep desire to return to the pitch, the craving for goals and titles, and the determination to prove himself after a long battle with injury.

This is the first time Xuân Son has shown such a strong stance since suffering a serious injury in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final. The image of him fighting hard surrounded by Thai players recalls heroic memories when this Brazil-born player was Southeast Asia’s most feared striker last year.

According to the latest information, Xuân Son will be called up to the Vietnam national team for the upcoming November FIFA Days, marking a highly anticipated return after 9 months off. Although recently recovered from injury, the Nam Định club forward remains part of coach Kim Sang Sik’s plans, who is gradually refreshing the team’s attack ahead of the 2027 Asian Cup.

The Vietnam national team is scheduled to gather from November 10 to 19, 2025, assembling at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center before moving to Viet Tri (Phu Tho) for training from November 11 to 14. Afterwards, coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad will travel to Laos for the fifth round qualifier against the host nation.
