OFFICIAL: Announcement of the strongest lineup for 2025

The International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) has officially announced the top 11 male players of 2025, unsurprisingly led by PSG’s overwhelming presence.

The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 for 2025 has been officially unveiled, following votes from over 20,000 professional players across 68 countries worldwide to select the year's standout lineup.

This year, Paris Saint-Germain leads with five players included, among them Gianluigi Donnarumma (currently playing for Manchester City), highlighting the dominant influence of the French capital’s club after their historic treble-winning season.

Notably, Barcelona’s young talent Lamine Yamal made history as the youngest player ever selected for the FIFPRO World 11 at just 18 years old. This teenage star broke the record previously held by Kylian Mbappé, who was honored at age 19 in 2018.

The 2025 lineup perfectly blends veteran icons with emerging talents. Mbappé and Virgil van Dijk reaffirm their elite status with their 6th and 5th inclusions respectively. Meanwhile, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Pedri, Cole Palmer, Ousmane Dembélé, and Yamal are first-time honorees, marking the rise of a promising new generation of stars.

Since its inception in 2005, the FIFPRO World 11 remains the only global football award voted on by professional players themselves, those who best understand who truly excelled during the year.

Voting process

The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 is determined through votes cast by professional players worldwide via a secure digital platform jointly managed by FIFPRO and its member players’ unions.

The voting period considers player performance from July 15, 2024, to August 3, 2025, and only players who have participated in at least 30 official matches during this timeframe are eligible for nomination.

Each voter is required to select three outstanding players in each of four positions: goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and forward.

The final lineup is compiled based on the highest vote counts: one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards with the most votes are chosen. The 11th spot is reserved for the outfield player with the next highest total votes, completing the 2025 best XI.
