Manchester United may have to face Tottenham without Lisandro Martinez's return! Amolin aims for a second victory, hoping for good fortune in the revenge match.

Manchester United will travel to Tottenham this Saturday morning for their last game before the November international break. Yet, coach Ruben Amolin hinted that Lisandro Martinez, who has only recently returned to regular training, probably won’t be available for this Premier League encounter.

Martinez rejoined group training before the Nottingham Forest match but was left out of the squad for that game. English media had suggested that playing against Tottenham was a possibility. Regarding this, Amolin clearly stated in an interview that it would be difficult to make it happen. "He is really close... but I have to use this platform to tell Lisandro Martinez that playing before the international break is truly challenging."

Amolin adopts a cautious approach with Manchester United players prone to injury. For the Nottingham Forest match, Maguire returned to the squad but remained on the bench without playing. Even though United needed a player capable of contesting aerial duels in both penalty areas, Amolin ultimately chose not to field Maguire.

The 27-year-old Martinez has not played a match for over 300 days. Typically, players require about three weeks of normal training before they are fully ready to compete. Therefore, the match against Everton on November 25 might be a more suitable occasion for Martinez to make his comeback.

The Manchester United versus Tottenham fixture is undoubtedly a revenge game for Amolin’s team. Last season, the Red Devils suffered four defeats against this opponent, including a 0-1 loss in the Europa League final, which ruined their entire season. In the league, United also lost 0-1 away at Tottenham, and in the League Cup, they were defeated 3-4 on the road.

Statistics show that Manchester United have struggled against Tottenham recently, failing to secure a win in their last seven encounters, with two draws and five losses. The last time United beat the "Lilywhites" was on October 19, 2022, when they won 2-0 at home. Their last away victory at Tottenham was on October 30, 2021, with a 3-0 win. That year, United won twice at Tottenham, including a 3-1 victory, avenging the humiliating 1-6 home defeat from the previous year.

However, Thomas Frank’s team has been struggling before facing Manchester United. They not only lost 0-1 at home to Chelsea but also may be missing a key player for the Red Devils clash! Just seven minutes into the game against the Blues, Lucas Bervar was struck in the head by a shot from Enzo Fernandez, falling to the ground and appearing dazed after getting up.

Medical staff confirmed that Bervar suffered a concussion and could not continue playing. He was furious, pushing away the medics but had to leave the field. Tottenham brought on Xavi Simons, but the expensive new signing performed poorly, experiencing treatment similar to Sancho's, and was substituted again in the second half.

According to Premier League rules, Bervar cannot participate in any matches within six days and must pass multiple stages of assessment before returning to play. This process usually takes longer and includes: complete rest from physical activity, light aerobic exercise, sport-specific training, non-contact training, full-contact training, and finally, clearance from the club’s medical officer to resume playing.

This means Bervar will certainly miss Tottenham’s Tuesday night Champions League match against Copenhagen. He must race against time to be included in the squad for the Manchester United game, but it is very likely he will be unavailable. With Simons underperforming, the absence of this 19-year-old Swedish talent will benefit Manchester United. If United win this match, they will hold at least second place in the Premier League for a few hours.
