Zirkzee is becoming increasingly desperate at Manchester United! Despite staying positive, he remains unwanted and has been in talks with two clubs to leave.

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee’s situation seems to have hit rock bottom, with very limited opportunities to play. Far from regular appearances, he is almost consistently sidelined. Data reveals the Dutch forward featured twice in September, totaling 15 minutes, and once in October for just 8 minutes.

When Zirkzee initially joined last season, he experienced a difficult start but later demonstrated his value through effort. Unexpectedly, the 2025/26 season has started similarly, and this time a comeback seems unlikely. In all 10 Premier League matches this season, Zirkzee has been fit and available but has only accumulated 82 minutes on the field. Even in the League Cup upset loss to Grimsby, he was limited to just 8 minutes of playtime.

In the match against Nottingham Forest, with the team trailing by a goal in the last 10 minutes and needing a scorer, Amrabat chose not to bring Zirkzee on, explaining that his style was “not suitable.” While this reasoning might hold some truth, many say that if they were in Zirkzee’s position, they would request a transfer.

After signing attackers Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko this summer, Zirkzee’s place in the Manchester United pecking order has dropped to the bottom. Understandably dissatisfied with his situation, Zirkzee is considering leaving during the January transfer window to secure more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The Dutch player, acquired by Manchester United for €42.5 million, has attracted interest from several clubs including AC Milan, Napoli, Juventus, West Ham, Sevilla, Real Betis, and Brighton, all of which have promised him ample playing opportunities.

However, Manchester United insist they have no plans to let Zirkzee go, with Amrabat wanting to keep him as cover during the Africa Cup of Nations. Yet, the prospect of the Africa Cup might be just an empty promise; even if Amad Diallo and Mbeumo depart, Zirkzee would still be behind Mason Mount and remain a substitute.

English media report that Zirkzee maintains a positive attitude in the Manchester United dressing room. Nevertheless, "GIVEMESPORT" points out that as the winter transfer window approaches, Zirkzee’s patience is wearing thin. It is understood that he is growing increasingly desperate and gradually accepting that he cannot change Amrabat’s mind.

Sam Cowan stated, “Zirkzee continues to train hard, but those close to him admit that he feels frustrated and confused about his status. A source said: ‘He has done everything asked of him and doesn’t know what else he can do.’”

Zirkzee’s professionalism amid adversity has left a strong impression on Manchester United staff. Before last weekend’s away draw against Nottingham Forest, he was seen encouraging teammates in the tunnel to go out and secure victory. A source commented, “He hasn’t caused any trouble, which is much better than some other excluded players.”

But Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Zirkzee’s desire to leave is a definite fact. “Zirkzee has recently held talks with West Ham and Roma,” Romano said. “His departure from Manchester United in January is a tangible and serious possibility.”
