Brazil U17 coach Dudu Patetuci confirms that Indonesia U17 is a serious contender at the 2025 U17 World Cup.
The Brazil U17 head coach, Dudu Patetuci, emphasizes that no opponent in Group H of the 2025 U17 World Cup will be taken lightly, especially Indonesia U17. The 53-year-old coach stated that although Brazil has a rich tradition with four world titles (1997, 1999, 2003, and 2019), his players must enter the tournament with the utmost respect for every rival.
According to Patetuci, the three teams in Brazil’s group—Honduras, Indonesia, and Zambia—may lack notable achievements in youth competitions, but Brazil must not become complacent. “Even though these teams have limited success at the U17 level, I have told the coaching staff and players that we must always stay alert and treat them as serious opponents,” Coach Dudu Patetuci shared on FIFA’s official website.
The Brazilian strategist, who was an assistant when the Brazil U17 team won in 2019, believes no team in this year’s tournament is weak, as global football has developed more comprehensively. “We must respect every team. Football today is globalized, and just look at Morocco—they recently won the 2025 U20 World Cup,” he said, showing caution towards all opponents.
The Brazil U17 coaching staff has thoroughly studied the teams in Group H and aims to win all group matches to advance. “We have carefully analyzed the opponents we will face in the group stage. Brazil’s goal is to win every match and progress deep into the knockout rounds,” Patetuci stressed his determination.
Coach Patetuci mentioned that he has worked with most of the current squad since they played for Brazil’s U15 team. This generation was formed in 2021 and has built strong chemistry over three years together. Winning the 2025 South American U17 Championship undefeated has boosted Brazil’s confidence in defending their reputation on the world stage.
According to the schedule, Brazil U17 will open their campaign against Honduras U17 on the evening of November 4, 2025, at Stadium 3 in the Aspire Zone. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated match between Indonesia U17 and Brazil U17 is set for November 11, 2025, at 22:45 (Vietnam time) at Stadium 7. This promises to be an emotional game where Patetuci’s team will test their strength against a highly regarded opponent.
