A coach working in the Serbian National League died at the age of 44 after suddenly collapsing during a match.
The fateful game took place on November 3rd, when Radnicki 1923 faced Mladost. The match was halted after 22 minutes when coach Mladen Zizovic unexpectedly collapsed on the sidelines. He was immediately given emergency aid before being rushed to the hospital.
The game resumed while spectators awaited updates. However, about 20 minutes after play restarted, the heartbreaking news was confirmed. Footage showing players collapsing to the ground in tears quickly spread across social media. The entire Radnicki team tried to comfort each other, while the referee and organizers decided to cancel the match after receiving the tragic news from the hospital.
Zizovic, a former Bosnia & Herzegovina international with two national team appearances, ended his playing career in 2016. Regarded as one of Serbia’s top coaches, he had only managed Radnicki in three matches since his appointment on October 23rd. During his playing days, he competed for clubs in his homeland and Albania. Zizovic leaves behind three children.
