On November 5th Beijing time, the last 16 of the Snooker China Championship kicked off. Four matches have finished: Zhao Xintong dominated Si Jiahui 6-1 by winning five frames straight; Selby overwhelmed McGill with a six-frame streak to win 6-1; Hawkins powered through to defeat Lisowski 6-4; Wu Yize staged an incredible comeback, taking six frames in a row to beat Trump 6-4. Thus, four quarterfinalists have emerged: Zhao Xintong, Selby, Hawkins, and Wu Yize!

Selby faced McGill. McGill took the lead early with a break of 86, but then Selby took control. In fiery form, combining offense and defense, Selby produced two century breaks and three breaks over 60, unleashing a lightning-fast six-frame streak to crush his opponent 6-1 and advance to the quarterfinals without much resistance!
Hawkins played against Lisowski, who had just won the Northern Ireland Open and was riding high on confidence. Lisowski also caused an upset earlier by edging out O'Sullivan 6-5. The match saw big swings in momentum. Hawkins started strong, winning four frames in a row for a 4-0 lead. Lisowski fought back with his own four-frame streak to level at 4-4. But Hawkins steadied himself and secured two more frames to win 6-4, eliminating Lisowski and moving into the quarterfinals!

Zhao Xintong and Si Jiahui met in a derby battle, guaranteeing one Chinese player a quarterfinal spot. Both are strong contenders among Chinese players, so it was unfortunate they met so early. The match turned one-sided after an initial 1-1 tie. Zhao displayed sharp accuracy, hitting four 50+ breaks though no centuries, and won five straight frames to claim a commanding 6-1 victory and advance to the quarters. Zhao’s form appears back as he’s found his World Championship rhythm. However, facing Selby in the quarterfinals will be the real test!

Wu Yize challenged world number one Trump in a thrilling match full of dramatic twists. Wu fell behind 0-4 early, seemingly in deep trouble. Yet he unleashed an incredible surge, flowing like water with his attacking play. Seizing every chance, he completed a lightning-fast six-frame streak to pull off a remarkable 6-4 comeback and reach the quarterfinals. This match was truly magical and unforgettable. Next up, Wu faces Hawkins for a spot in the semifinals!
