A player suddenly experienced a seizure in the Vietnamese Third Division

Nguyễn Anh Tuấn from Phù Đổng Youth Club suddenly suffered a seizure in the game versus Hà Nội Bulls in the National Third Division.

On the afternoon of November 5, 2025, a worrying incident took place during the match between Phù Đổng Youth Club and Hà Nội Bulls in the National Third Division, held at Hoài Đức Stadium. At the 29th minute, midfielder Nguyễn Anh Tuấn (wearing jersey number 13) from Phù Đổng Youth suddenly collapsed on the field and had a seizure, causing alarm among players and spectators alike.

Referee Lê Quang Cường reacted swiftly by stopping the match and, along with players, provided emergency first aid, supporting Anh Tuấn’s head and placing him in a recovery position. Medical staff quickly arrived to attend to him. After about 30 seconds, Anh Tuấn stopped seizing, was temporarily stabilized, and was carried off on a stretcher to the nearest hospital for emergency care.

The club representative stated that the player, born in 2008, was conscious upon hospital admission and will be transferred to a central hospital for further monitoring and to determine the exact cause. Despite losing an important player, Phù Đổng Youth managed to secure a 2-1 victory over Hà Nội Bulls. This incident once again highlights the critical importance of medical preparedness in professional competitions, especially in youth tournaments.

Earlier, a frightening moment occurred at Hà Tĩnh Stadium on the evening of November 4 during the match between Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh and Hoàng Anh Gia Lai in the 10th round of the 2025/26 V-League. At the 65th minute, central defender Đinh Quang Kiệt of HAGL, known as the tallest center-back to have played for the Vietnam national team (1.95 meters), suddenly suffered a serious accident while contesting an aerial duel with Viktor Lê from Hà Tĩnh.

After jumping for a header, both players collided heavily, causing Quang Kiệt to fall unconscious on the pitch. Immediately after landing, the 2007-born defender showed signs of convulsions, with a high risk of tongue swallowing.

Recognizing the emergency, referee Nguyễn Mạnh Hải, who was nearby, reacted instantly, rushing to provide aid and ensure the Hà Tĩnh player’s safety, preventing any serious complications.
