Al Nassr keeps demonstrating their dominance in the AFC Champions League 2 by thrashing FC Goa 4-0 at home, maintaining their top position in Group D with a perfect record after four matches.
Al Nassr once again showed overwhelming strength in AFC Champions League 2 by comfortably defeating FC Goa 4-0 at their home ground, Al Awwal Park, solidifying their lead in Group D with a full 12 points from 4 games.
The Saudi team started proactively, completely controlling the game against the weaker opponent. Despite creating numerous chances, it was only in the 35th minute that Al Nassr broke the deadlock thanks to Abdulrahman Ghareeb’s spectacular free-kick. The powerful and precise shot left goalkeeper Hrithik Tiwari helpless as the ball hit the crossbar and went in, allowing the hosts to end the first half with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Al Nassr accelerated fiercely. Goa’s defense completely collapsed under the tremendous pressure from the West Asian side. In the 53rd minute, Ghareeb completed his brace after a beautiful combination with Al Hassan. Just over 10 minutes later, Meshari sprinted down the right wing and crossed back for Marran to tap in close range, pushing the score to 3-0.
Not stopping there, coach Luis Castro brought on Sadio Mané and Felix, and the duo immediately made an impact. In the 84th minute, Mané showcased his skillful dribbling before crossing for Felix to execute a stunning volley, sealing a spectacular 4-0 victory for the Saudi team.
In the closing minutes, Ghareeb nearly completed a hat-trick when he broke through one-on-one with the goalkeeper but missed the target. Nonetheless, this did not diminish his outstanding performance nor the comprehensive strength of Al Nassr.
This win helps Al Nassr maintain their flawless form and almost guarantees an early qualification to the knockout stage, while FC Goa continues to sink at the bottom of the group with zero points after four matches.
