Mbappe, Bellingham, Vinicius Jr powerless as Real Madrid are held to a draw at Vallecano

Real Madrid arrived at Vallecas aiming to claim all three points to solidify their top spot in La Liga, but Carlo Ancelotti’s team faced a frustrating 90 minutes and had to accept a 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Real Madrid’s star players were powerless against Vallecano

From the opening minutes, the visitors took the initiative to control the game and created several notable attacking chances. In the 8th minute, Mbappe broke away to receive a through ball, but goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski (Batalla) rushed out in time. Vinicius Jr. was the most energetic player on Real’s side, yet his shots in the 31st and 35th minutes were both off target.

The home team Vallecano did not give in easily. In the 20th minute, they launched a dangerous counterattack when their forward dribbled and fired a powerful shot, but Courtois managed to narrow the angle and make a save. Both sides had chances in the first half, but poor finishing kept the scoreline at 0-0 when the referee blew for the end of the first 45 minutes.
