The Stallion Laguna women's team (Philippines) is the first club to have arrived in Vietnam to prepare for the AFC Champions League 2025/26.
From November 13 to 19, Ho Chi Minh City I women's team will compete in Group A matches of the AFC Champions League 2025/26. This time, Huynh Nhu and her teammates will continue to benefit from home advantage as the matches will be held at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City.
The Stallion Laguna women's team (Philippines) was the first to arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) on the afternoon of November 9 to participate in the AFC Women's Club Championship 2025/26. The other two visiting teams in Group A, Melbourne City FC (Australia) and Lion City Sailors FC (Singapore), are scheduled to arrive on November 10 and 11 respectively.
Meanwhile, as the host team in Group A, Ho Chi Minh City FC women's team has completed training and is ready to embark on their continental campaign, which will take place soon at Thong Nhat Stadium.
After successfully defending their domestic title, Ho Chi Minh City I women's football club is busy preparing for the new challenge at the AFC Women's Champions League 2025/26. In this tournament, the Vietnamese representative is in Group A alongside Melbourne City (Australia), Stallion Laguna (Philippines), and Lion City Sailors (Singapore).
And to get ready for the competition, Ho Chi Minh City has heavily invested in personnel with six foreign players, a record number in the club's history. The list includes four players who played for Ho Chi Minh City last season such as Aubrey Goodwill, Maria Khan (Pakistan), Sakura Yoshida, and Tatiana Mason (USA), along with two notable newcomers, Ouni Samia (Tunisia) and Gorman Chloe.
In addition to the foreign players mentioned above, Ho Chi Minh City women's team also has a very notable addition, the return of goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh - who had left the club at the beginning of 2024.
After playing for Thai Nguyen T&T club, the "World Cup hero" of the Vietnam women's national team requested an early contract termination to return to her former club. Kim Thanh's comeback is expected to significantly strengthen the defensive line of the city’s team named after President Ho Chi Minh.
