The early moments were calm, but the away fans erupted in the 12th minute.
Freiburg had shown strong intent from the start and were rewarded when Jan-Niklas Beste delivered a low corner that was flicked on by Matthias Ginter, setting up Yuito Suzuki to score the opening goal.
Another Beste corner caused problems for the Bavarians just five minutes later, as Johan Manzambi jumped above the defenders to head the ball past Manuel Neuer.
Bayern quickly intensified their efforts looking for a reply, which came from Lennart Karl, who recovered after missing a header by skillfully controlling Michael Olise’s sharp pass and shooting past Noah Atubolu.
Bayern kept pressing with threatening ball movement, while Julian Schuster’s team defended well and countered when possible, with Suzuki narrowly missing an ambitious shot.
Before halftime, Bayern increased the pressure, resulting in a goal in the second minute of stoppage time when Karl passed to Olise, who unleashed a fierce shot beating Atubolu despite the goalkeeper’s two-handed attempt.

Karl appeared to have given the hosts the lead seven minutes after the break, but Josip Stanisic was offside when setting up the young player.
Bayern didn’t wait much longer for their goal, as Dayot Upamecano finished clinically from Olise’s corner.
The Bavarians looked dominant when they doubled their lead on the hour mark, with Harry Kane taking advantage of a lucky bounce to power his shot past Atubolu. Luis Diaz then weaved through the defense but his shot went agonizingly wide.
Although Karl left the field injured, the goals kept coming as Nicolas Jackson replaced him and scored easily seven minutes later after excellent work from Olise.
The Frenchman finished off a fantastic performance with a brilliant goal, cutting inside and curling the ball beyond Atubolu’s reach.
This victory marked Bayern’s return to winning form in style after a draw before the international break, securing their 17th win in 18 games across all competitions this season.
In doing so, they handed Freiburg only their second defeat in their last 14 competitive matches.
