Gallagher has proactively offered himself to Manchester United, willing to join on loan this winter! Atletico Madrid's €50 million price tag remains a hurdle.

Atletico Madrid’s English midfielder Conor Gallagher’s agent has taken the initiative to propose the player to Manchester United, hoping to arrange a transfer during the January winter window. As is widely known, Gallagher desires to play in the World Cup, but to secure a spot in the England squad, he must get more minutes on the pitch, and he feels that the Red Devils offer the best chance to do so.

Sources confirm that Gallagher’s agent has recently engaged with Manchester United. However, the main obstacle to this deal isn’t the Red Devils or the player, but Atletico Madrid’s stance. Reportedly, the "Colchoneros" maintain the same position as in the summer transfer window, wanting a permanent transfer with a €50 million asking price. Alternatively, they are open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy if Manchester United or other clubs agree.

However, Manchester United are not interested in a guaranteed permanent transfer; they prefer a straightforward loan or an option to buy rather than a compulsory purchase clause. Insiders say United will monitor Gallagher’s situation until February and consider action if a loan move becomes possible.

For Manchester United, finding a player who fits the Premier League, is willing to join the club, and comes at a reasonable price is not an easy task. Players from the European continent often don’t meet these criteria. According to Spanish media "Defensa Central," Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, who has been linked with the Red Devils, prefers to join Real Madrid to play under Xabi Alonso rather than choosing the Premier League’s Manchester United.

Defensa Central reports that insiders at Real Madrid believe Stiller would be very happy to wear the white jersey, seeing it as an ideal project that is clearly superior to Manchester United’s. The Red Devils have experienced a prolonged period of struggle, and foreign players find it hard to adapt.

Manchester United’s manager Ruben Amorim, who has been in charge for a year, clearly stated that although the team is unbeaten in the last five matches, it has not yet reached the ideal state he envisions. To change this, besides bringing in new players, the team’s mentality is equally crucial.

"I am prepared for the future and also ready to face the present. This journey has indeed been tough, but now I see it as a necessary experience, and I believe that because of everything we have gone through, our current situation is better," Amorim said. "Our performances have improved, and confidence is stronger. This confidence naturally comes from good results, like against Liverpool, where we were quite fortunate, but you have to admit, our performance was very strong in that match."

Amorim added, "This has changed the team’s momentum. We performed well in the preseason, started well against Arsenal, then had ups and downs until we stabilized now. This is exactly what I expected. We are continuously improving and getting better, and I am not surprised by this."

However, Amorim believes the team still needs further improvement. "After the match against Tottenham, I did feel a sense of frustration because we are still far from perfect. I reviewed the game footage at Carrington, and we are nowhere near a team that can win every match. So, Manchester United still has a lot of work to do."

Amorim will persist with his 3-4-3 formation and build recruitment around it. "I want to reiterate that for months I have emphasized: the formation is not the root problem. The formation is just a starting point; what matters is the energy, confidence, style, and competitiveness during the matches. The games we lost this season were not due to the 3-4-3 system but because of a lack of fighting spirit. To win more games in the Premier League, we must be flawless."
