The visitors last secured a Premier League victory at Arsenal 15 years ago, and that poor record remained intact as Eberechi Eze scored a hat-trick for the home side.
"It was a very bad night for us. First and foremost, we must apologise to the fans who support us every day," the Italian goalkeeper said.
"They expected us to fight, but today we didn’t. Fighting is non-negotiable at this level of football.
"It’s a tough evening, a heavy defeat."

Defensively organized, Tottenham were almost invisible going forward, with the only bright moment being a bold and unexpected goal by Richarlison to bring the score to 3-1. In reality, the final result could have been even more one-sided, as Vicario had to make several excellent saves.
Tottenham’s expected goals amounted to just 0.07, and by the end, many of their supporters had already left.
They now have to recover quickly for an away Champions League match against the defending champions Paris St Germain on Wednesday.
"We must stay united. We have a crucial game on Wednesday, so we need to stick together. Tonight, we failed to show what we are usually capable of," Vicario stated.
"Emotions are running high, but we need to keep calm and apologise to the fans who supported us and travelled today.
"I believe we waited too long to get into the match. We were too passive. Our game plan was different. Today, we didn’t fight. First and foremost, we must apologise for that.
