The Red Devils have been informed about the availability of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, after his agent publicly stated he might transfer from Italy for under €40 million.

This valuation is considerably less than the amount quoted to United last January, when the Brazilian was valued at nearly twice that sum.

The chance of a bargain deal has suddenly shifted the situation, and United are expected to soon investigate the full financial details of a possible transfer.

The timing is significant because Casemirohas shown a decline in performance recently, and he was overshadowed by Crystal Palacemidfield standout Adam Wharton in United’s 2-1 victory.

Wharton remains firmly on United’s long-term watchlist, but the club acknowledges he is unlikely to be acquired before the summer at the earliest.
