Mbappe joins the ranks of Ronaldo and Messi

Kylian Mbappe has officially become part of the exclusive circle of football legends, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

In the recent draw between Real Madrid and Girona, Kylian Mbappe once again emerged as the hero by scoring a penalty, securing a point for the Royal team.

Notably, this goal marked the 60th time the French striker has scored against opponents both for Real Madrid and the national team. This milestone places him among the few 21st-century players to reach this achievement, alongside Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Robert Lewandowski.

This is also a significant achievement for French football, as Mbappe becomes the first player since Just Fontaine in 1958 to score 60 goals for both club and country within a single year. This milestone highlights Mbappe’s outstanding consistency and his evolution from a top talent into a leading figure at Real Madrid.

In 19 appearances this season for Los Blancos, Mbappe has netted 23 goals and provided three assists, establishing himself as the team’s main striker. The 2018 World Cup winner currently leads the La Liga scoring charts with 14 goals.

The year 2025 marks a crucial turning point in Mbappe’s career, signifying the period when he truly became the centerpiece and leader of Real Madrid. Although his first year at Bernabeu did not bring trophies, Mbappe scored decisive goals in the Champions League and forged sharp attacking connections during the first half of 2025.
