The U17 Vietnam striker - Nguyễn Mạnh Quân has become the top goal scorer in Vietnam for the year 2025.
According to the Hanoi Youth Football Fanpage, with 29 goals scored in official competitions throughout 2025, young striker Trần Mạnh Quân has become the highest goal scorer in Vietnam for 2025 (including both youth and senior levels).
Out of Trần Mạnh Quân’s 29 goals, 14 came from the 2025 National U15 Championship, 9 from the National U17 Championship, and recently 5 goals during the U17 Asian Qualifiers 2026 for Vietnam’s U17 team. He was the top scorer in both the U15 and U17 National Championships and also the best scorer for Vietnam’s U17 team in the 2026 Asian qualifiers campaign.
To achieve 29 goals in 2025, Mạnh Quân only needed 29 matches, averaging 1 goal per game. Although still a young player and all goals coming from youth competitions, the U17 Vietnam striker is proving himself as an extremely promising forward for the future of Vietnamese football.
Notably Trần Mạnh Quân was initially not included in Coach Roland’s plan for the U17 Vietnam team. However, after striker Nguyễn Lê Quang Khôi failed to recover in time from a ligament injury and had to miss the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers, Mạnh Quân was given the opportunity. From being a last-minute addition to the squad, Mạnh Quân has shown himself to be a valuable striker for Vietnam’s U17 attack.
Previously, Trần Mạnh Quân, the top scorer of the 2025 U17 National Championship Finals – Thai Son Nam Cup, was called up additionally to the Vietnam U17 team training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, preparing for the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers. Compared to his teammates, Mạnh Quân was summoned after the U17 Vietnam squad had already been training for nearly three weeks.
In his debut match for Vietnam U17, a 6-0 win over Singapore, Mạnh Quân, coming off the bench, managed to score 2 goals. Then in the 14-0 victory against the Northern Mariana Islands, Mạnh Quân was voted the best player of the match and added another 2 goals.<*!> He also scored in the 4-0 win against Macau.
