A Russian athlete has captured global attention by playing football at 1800 meters altitude on a floating pitch suspended by a hot air balloon, simultaneously celebrating with a spectacular “siuuu” move.
A video that has been widely shared on social media recently shows an incredible scene: Russian daredevil Sergey Boytcov playing football 1800 meters above the ground. This is not a stadium or a crowd-filled arena performance, but rather on a “football field” suspended in mid-air, attached to a gigantic hot air balloon designed to set a world record.
The playing platform is designed like a mini football pitch with artificial turf, marked lines, and full goals, held only by a system of cables. Around it is vast open air, with no barriers or safety nets, meaning any misstep or off-target shot could lead to extreme danger. To somewhat ensure safety, Boytcov and his team are equipped with specialized parachutes, but the risk remains very high.
In the video, Boytcov performs various technical moves, passes, and shots right in mid-air. A goal is scored amid strong winds and a constantly shaking surface, creating a stunning moment for viewers. The most remarkable part is when, after scoring, the athlete jumps and recreates Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous “siuuu” celebration (a spinning airborne move followed by a strong stomp) at nearly 6,000 feet high, making the scene extremely impressive and surreal.
According to the team, this event was carried out as an extreme sports challenge and a technical test for the engineers who designed the suspended platform. The performance aimed to establish a new record for the highest altitude football playing ever documented.
Once uploaded, the video quickly attracted millions of views on TikTok, Instagram, and sports forums. Many expressed admiration for the daring spirit and creativity, while others commented with concern about the danger level of the stunt. Despite controversy, the video continues to go viral and is considered one of the most impressive extreme sports performances worldwide recently.
