Mexico is also scheduled to play against Belgium at Soldier Field in Chicago three days later, part of two World Cup preparatory matches announced by the Mexican Football Federation on Tuesday.
Mexico’s national stadium has seen major improvements, including upgraded seating, enhanced hospitality zones, and modernized media facilities, and will become the first stadium to host matches in three different World Cups, having previously hosted in 1970 and 1986.
This legendary stadium is set to hold five games during the 2026 tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The expanded 48-team World Cup begins on June 11.
