Vietnamese football makes history
In 2025, Vietnam set an Asian record by having 7 teams qualify for the final rounds of continental competitions.
The seven teams include: U23 men, U17 men, national women's team, U20 women, U17 women, men's futsal, and women's futsal. Before Vietnam, only Japan had achieved a similar feat.
Notably, all 7 teams finished the qualifiers undefeated. Among them, 5 teams kept a perfect clean sheet: U23 men, U17 men, national women's team, U20 women, and U17 women. Only the men's and women's futsal teams conceded goals during the qualifiers.
