Based on the newest mid-season ranking of the Asian women's club system, Vietnam maintains an impressive 5th place in Asia.
According to the latest mid-season 2025/26 ranking of Asian women's clubs, Vietnam continues to excellently secure the 5th spot in Asia with 74.72 points (the national team contributed 24.6 points while Ho Chi Minh City I club contributed 50.12 points), thereby affirming its leading position in the Southeast Asian arena.
Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City I club's qualification for the quarterfinals of the 2025/26 AFC Champions League significantly boosted Vietnam's football points. In the group stage, the team achieved two victories against opponents Stallion and Lion City Sailors, losing only one match to the strong rival Melbourne City (Australia). This same team also helped Australia maintain the top position on the leaderboard with a perfect record of three wins in the group stage. Specifically, Australian football scored a total of 97.93 points, including 70 points contributed by club performances in continental competitions.
Occupying the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions on the ranking are Japan (81.15 points), China (80.34 points), and South Korea (74.14 points), respectively. Most of the points for these countries come from the clubs competing in the AFC Champions League.
Regarding Ho Chi Minh City I club, this marks the second consecutive time a Vietnamese representative has qualified for the AFC Champions League quarterfinals. Last season, Huynh Nhu and her teammates even made a strong impression by reaching the semifinals, only losing 0-2 to the defending champions Wuhan Jiangda. This season, Coach Kim Chi's squad continues to aim for even greater ambitions.
