Coach Mai Đức Chung sets high demands for his players at the 2025 SEA Games

Head coach Mai Đức Chung continues to hold two training sessions daily for the Vietnamese women's national football team, despite only a few days left before their opening match against Malaysia atSEA Games 33takes place.

At 9:00 AM on December 3rd, the Vietnamese women's team conducted their second training session in Chonburi. The location was San Suk Stadium, also called Chonburi Daikin — the main stadium where Coach Mai Đức Chung’s squad will compete. This stadium is approximately 38 km from the hotel where the team is based, requiring a 50-minute transfer. Despite the distance, Coach Mai Đức Chung decided to maintain two training sessions per day. The afternoon session was held at Banbueng Stadium, around 41 km from the hotel, with a 51-minute drive.

Regarding her personal goal, Kim Yên said: "If I get to play, I will try my best to contribute the best outcome for the team." The Ho Chi Minh City club player believes she has learned a lot from her seniors and also shared that the team’s spirit after the first training session in Chonburi is very positive, ready for the tournament.

Looking forward to the first match against Malaysia, Kim Yên said: "The whole team is focused on preparation, not taking things lightly, and aiming to win 3 points. We hope the fans will keep following and supporting us. The team will give their all to bring home the best results."

Meanwhile, striker and captain Huỳnh Như said: "The entire team is very confident and prepared. Everyone has settled comfortably at the accommodation and is excited to begin training sessions in Chonburi. We have had an extensive preparation period and just completed a successful training camp in Japan. This is an important chance for the team to polish tactics, fitness, and team bonding, ready for upcoming matches. Our target is to secure 3 points. We respect every opponent but always strive for victory. The young players have progressed quickly and performed well in Japan. Their integration adds depth and greater competitiveness to the team. We hope fans will always love and come to support us at the stadium. That will be a huge motivation for the team to perform at their best and win."

At 2:00 PM tomorrow, Coach Mai Đức Chung and captain Huỳnh Như will attend the pre-match press conference before the opening game in Group B of the women's football event at SEA Games 33. The match will kick off at 6:30 PM tomorrow (December 5).
