Heads of state and football officials took part in the draw event for the FIFA World Cup 2026 finals.
At 00:00 Vietnam time on the morning of December 6th, the event took place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The draw ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2026 finals was held.
According to FIFA, this important event was attended by heads of state from the three co-host countries of the 2026 FIFA World Cup – Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Additionally, football officials from around the world were present. Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn, a member of the Asian Football Confederation's Executive Committee, The President of the Vietnam Football Federation along with officials from Southeast Asian and Asian Football Federations were present in Washington, D.C.
Here, the world witnessed the allocation of 48 qualified teams into 12 groups, marking the first milestone of the largest expanded World Cup in history.
The draw ceremony marked the beginning of the journey toward the FIFA World Cup 2026, scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across 16 host cities in North America.
