While preparing for the next stage of the 2025/26 V-League, SHB Da Nang club surprisingly parted ways with their team's coach.
Recently, SHB Da Nang’s official website posted an announcement about parting ways with Coach Lee Yong Kyu just before the second half of the 2025/26 V-League season. This news came as a surprise since Da Nang had only brought in the Korean fitness coach at the start of 2025.
Although not often seen in the media, Coach Lee Yong Kyu’s contributions have been clearly visible on the training ground. From scientifically designed fitness programs, managing training loads, to supporting injury recovery, everything was carried out meticulously and seriously. This dedication helped SHB Da Nang players maintain a stable fitness base during the intense competition period.
However, SHB Da Nang’s situation before the second half of the 2025/26 V-League is quite bleak. After 11 matches, the team has only earned 7 points and currently sits at the bottom of the standings. Yet, they are just 1 point away from the safety zone. To avoid relegation again, SHB Da Nang must adjust their playing style and achieve better results.
From the club’s perspective, SHB Da Nang is entering the new season with high hopes. The management aims to build a youthful, energetic squad balanced with experience, targeting stable performance in the V-League and deeper progress in the National Cup.
Notably, SHB Da Nang will enter the second phase of the 2025/26 V-League playing at a 'new yet familiar' stadium. It is still the same venue, but from the second half, it will be named Chi Lang Stadium, a name closely linked with Da Nang football in previous years. This move is seen as a meaningful gesture, hoping to help the team “change their luck,” regain confidence, and fighting spirit.
Chi Lang Stadium was associated with the golden era of Da Nang football, where the team frequently achieved success and was a formidable opponent at home. Conversely, since moving to Hoa Xuan Stadium, Da Nang’s performance has been inconsistent and has declined significantly, with the club often struggling to avoid relegation in recent seasons.
