Manchester United aims to outbid Arsenal for the young talent! Casemiro receives a two-year contract offer and may return to play in Brazil.

British media reveal that Manchester United is looking to outpace Arsenal in securing Blackburn’s rising star Igor Tyjon. This 17-year-old England youth forward rejected Blackburn’s pro contract, leading multiple Premier League teams to pursue him.

Among them, Premier League leaders Arsenal have been considered the favorites to sign Tyjon, as they seek a forward to replace Chiquinho Obi, who joined Manchester United last season. Arsenal’s initial offer of £1 million was rejected by Blackburn. It is reported that Manchester United plans to raise their bid to £1.7 million to persuade Blackburn to release the player.

British media state that the January transfer window is Blackburn’s last chance to sell Tyjon, as his scholarship contract expires at the end of this season, allowing him to move freely to any club afterward, with Blackburn only entitled to training compensation. Therefore, Manchester United’s offer might be appealing, although rumors suggest it could be an agent’s tactic to drive up the price.

Tyjon, of Polish immigrant descent, stands 181 cm tall and mainly plays as a striker but can also operate on the left wing or as a number 10. This young talent boasts excellent movement and footwork, excels at holding up the ball as a pivot, has solid technique, and shows a strong willingness to track back, demonstrating high football intelligence off the ball.

In 2024, Tyjon made his Championship debut, becoming the third youngest player in the club’s league history. However, he primarily plays for the youth team, having appeared three times this season in the U21 Premier League 2, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

Manchester United’s owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is keen on stockpiling young talents as he aims to refresh the squad. With Ruben Amorim’s departure, the 33-year-old veteran Casemiro’s career at Old Trafford may be approaching its final phase.

Casemiro, who will soon turn 34, will not be offered a contract extension unless he agrees to a weekly wage below £150,000. His current contract pays him £350,000 per week, so Sir Ratcliffe is unlikely to activate the one-year renewal option.

It is reported that Brazilian traditional powerhouse Palmeiras has offered Casemiro a two-year contract. According to regulations, overseas clubs can now freely negotiate with “Fat Tiger.” The Brazilian side believes a longer contract will help persuade Casemiro to return home, and they have promised him a key role in the team.

Manchester United plans to sign a new midfielder this summer, with Nottingham Forest’s Elliott Anderson being a favored target. Although Amorim has left, the plan remains unchanged. However, Anderson is unlikely to transfer in January due to the staggering transfer fee involved.

David Ornstein, a respected transfer expert from “Athletic,” stated: “There will be no January transfer, that’s certain. The price is too high. From the perspective of PSR Premier League profitability and sustainability rules and UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, I can say the deal is complicated. If you want to bring in a player like Anderson, you also need to free up squad space. His current weekly wage already exceeds £100,000, so the new club would definitely have to offer him a higher salary. Nottingham Forest currently has no intention to sell him. The summer scenario is different; every player has their own value. We’ve heard asking prices between £80 million and £100 million, possibly even higher.”

Anderson’s contract with Nottingham Forest runs until June 2029, so the club is under no pressure to sell him and can wait for a suitable transfer fee.
