Vietnamese overseas player Khoa Ngô netted a goal right in his debut game for Ho Chi Minh City Police FC.
The friendly match between host Thep Xanh Nam Dinh and Ho Chi Minh City Police was part of the training plan in the northern region by coach Lê Huỳnh Đức's team. Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức continued to experiment with various positions on the field, including players like Dương Văn Hào, Tẩy Văn Toàn, and Trần Mạnh Cường. Additionally, Đức Phú was retained for upcoming friendly matches.
In the 12th round of the 2025/26 V.League, Ho Chi Minh City Police will visit PVF’s home ground to face PVF-CAND on February 1. The trip north aims to help the team adapt to the climate, as planned by the club’s management and coaching staff. Besides the friendly against Thep Xanh Nam Dinh on January 11, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC has two more friendlies scheduled: against Ninh Bình FC on January 14 and at Lạch Tray stadium versus Hải Phòng on January 16.
On the opposite side, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh fielded two lineups featuring many foreign players, ending the first half with a 1-1 draw. Notably, the equalizing goal for Ho Chi Minh City Police was strongly influenced by newcomer Minh Trọng. The defender accelerated and delivered an accurate cross for Tiến Linh to finish with a volley.
