On January 14th Beijing time, the Masters snooker round of 16 continues. According to the latest schedule, the final two matches of the round of 16 will take place tonight, revealing the complete list of quarterfinalists. Only one Chinese player, Ding Junhui, remains to compete; tonight he will battle Trump for a spot in the quarterfinals. In the other match, Australian powerhouse Robertson receives a great opportunity, facing Wakelin, who replaced O'Sullivan, for a quarterfinal berth!

So far, six of the eight quarterfinal spots have been decided in this tournament, with Chinese players holding three of them, which is quite impressive. Wu Yize, Xiao Guodong, and Zhao Xintong are among them, while Si Jiahui was eliminated 6-2 by Kyren Wilson and sent home. Interestingly, all six first-round matches ended with a 6-2 scoreline. Tonight, the last remaining Chinese player, Ding Junhui, will make his appearance. His opponent is world number one Trump, putting Ding under tremendous pressure!

Ding Junhui versus Trump. Ding hasn’t had any standout results this season; although he is ranked in the top sixteen, his world ranking has been steadily declining, indicating a significant drop in form. Trump, despite struggling to win titles this season, has at least reached a ranking final. The gap between them is considerable now. Under normal circumstances, Ding has almost no chance of winning. Their recent encounters have all ended in Trump’s favor, including their meeting at this year’s UK Championship. Their rematch now is truly a remarkable coincidence!

Robertson versus Wakelin. Robertson has returned to peak form this season, winning the Saudi Masters and earning £500,000 in prize money, climbing into the world’s top three and topping the single-season rankings. As the only non-British Grand Slam champion, Robertson’s strength is undeniable. Originally, his first-round opponent was supposed to be O'Sullivan, but unexpectedly, O'Sullivan withdrew and Wakelin took his place. Wakelin recently won the Scottish Open, but overall, his ability is still below Robertson’s. If Robertson plays normally, his chances of winning are very high. We look forward to an exciting match!
