Thái Nguyên T&T caused a surprise in the 3rd round of the National U19 Women's Championship

Thái Nguyên T&T pulled off a major surprise with a 1-0 victory over Hanoi in the third match of the 2026 National U19 Women's Football Championship.

The match between the two teams was seen as crucial in the race for the championship. Right after the kickoff, both Thái Nguyên T&T and Hanoi played cautiously, prioritizing defensive solidity. Hanoi, with a stronger squad, controlled the game better for most of the first half.

However, Thái Nguyên T&T showed danger on counter-attacks. In the 35th minute, after a fierce contest by Thảo Nguyên, Trần Thị Hường unleashed a beautiful long-range shot that beat goalkeeper Phạm Ngọc Anh, giving Thái Nguyên T&T the lead.

In the second half, Hanoi pushed forward to seek an equalizer. Nevertheless, their attacks lacked sharpness to break through Thái Nguyên T&T’s well-organized defense. Meanwhile, Thúy Nga and Thảo Nguyên continued to perform effectively in midfield, helping to neutralize the opponent’s offensive moves.

Failing to capitalize on their chances, Hanoi accepted a narrow 0-1 loss. This result gave Thái Nguyên T&T an important victory and intensified the competition in the 2026 National U19 Women's Football Championship. In the late match at 6 PM, Phong Phú Hà Nam won 2-1 against Than KSVN, securing full 3 points.

The teams compete in a double round-robin format (home and away). Specifically, the first leg takes place from January 7 to 20, 2026, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center; the second leg runs from January 27 to February 7, 2026, at Hà Nam Stadium (Ninh Bình province).
