Juventus makes a major signing in their revival, acquiring Crystal Palace striker Mateta for a total of €30 million, with a market value of €40 million.

Juventus' recent striker signings have been disastrous, but this time the Bianconeri have finally identified the right target: Premier League Crystal Palace striker Mateta.

According to the latest from Sky Sports, Juventus is set to pay a total of €30 million to sign 28-year-old French center-forward Mateta from Crystal Palace, with a transfer fee structured as a €2 million loan plus a €28 million buyout clause, which will be triggered under certain conditions this summer. Earlier reports indicated the clause activates if Juventus secures a European competition spot next season; currently, Juventus sits fifth in Serie A.

Italian journalist Di Marzio reports that Crystal Palace has rejected Juventus' initial offer, while Juventus is prepared to offer Mateta a four-and-a-half-year contract. With captain Gueye departing and coach Glasner reportedly wanting to leave, Mateta—who has only a year and a half left on his contract—is reluctant to renew with Palace and prefers to join Juventus, eager to prove himself on a bigger stage and compete for more honors and titles.

Mateta is currently 28 years old, in his prime, and could easily play in Serie A for another 4-5 years. Standing 1.92 meters tall and a right-footed striker, he has scored 8 goals in 22 Premier League appearances this season, with 10 goals and 2 assists in 33 matches across all competitions. His market value on Transfermarkt is €40 million.
