Lynch suggests Slot’s future is almost sealed unless Liverpool suffers another disastrous losing streak. Meanwhile, The Athletic confirms FSG’s public support for the Dutch coach, unwilling to repeat rivals' mistakes of firing managers mid-season.

Nevertheless, Xabi Alonso’s departure from Real Madrid has changed the situation. The arrival of a strong candidate with deep ties to Anfield increases the pressure on Slot. Securing a Champions League spot is considered the minimum requirement; failure to do so would likely result in a summer parting of ways.​
