Is there still a leak? Manchester United launches an investigation into the early leak of the derby starting lineup! Mourinho’s squad has been repeatedly exposed so far.

According to the UK’s The Sun, Manchester United has initiated another internal inquiry to identify who leaked the starting lineup before the Manchester derby. The newspaper published the accurate lineup several hours before the match, embarrassing the club’s management, who have tried for years to prevent such leaks but still face unexpected breaches.

Samuel Luckhurst, a well-known reporter who moved from the Manchester Evening News to The Sun, has been at the center of controversies for years. Back in 2018, before the FA Cup final, Mourinho turned the tables during a press conference: “Before you ask your question, may I ask you one first?” After receiving a yes, Mourinho asked, “Do you know my lineup for tomorrow?”

Luckhurst said he did not. But shortly after, before an away match against Bournemouth, when Mourinho was asked if Lukaku could play, he pointed at Luckhurst and said, “Go ask Samuel!”

However, it is said Mourinho does not oppose journalists doing their reporting duties; he just despises club insiders who cannot keep secrets.

Recently, Manchester United has built good momentum by beating Manchester City, but conflicts with outsiders have deepened, including disputes with legends like Scholes and Nicky Butt. The verbal clashes between Lisandro Martinez and these veterans have yet to be resolved.

British media revealed that Manchester United is currently recruiting a social media manager, a role with huge responsibilities and pressure, as the club has hundreds of millions of fans and over 200 million followers across platforms! Former social media head Nick Speckman left last year; he modernized the club’s online content and was popular among young fans.

However, during Sir Alex Ferguson’s tenure, the club did not support social media efforts, and Manchester United had no official accounts before 2013. It was only two months after Ferguson retired that the club dared to launch an official Twitter account. In 2011, youth academy midfielder Darren Gibson joined social media but was ridiculed after posting and soon deleted his account.

Ferguson once told his players to spend free time in the library reading and enriching themselves, which he considered far more meaningful than using social media. Unfortunately, the tide of time is irreversible, and now players express themselves and boost their commercial value through social media.

This week, Manchester United’s Chief Operating Officer Collette Roche held the Old Trafford redevelopment project launch ceremony at the Imperial War Museum in Salford Quays, reaffirming the club’s determination to build the world’s most advanced stadium. Roche attended the event alongside stadium redevelopment lead Lord Koi and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.

Manchester United aims to build the UK’s largest stadium with a 100,000 capacity, along with supporting residential facilities, expected to generate over £7 billion annually for the UK economy. Over ten months ago, Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced the decision to rebuild the home ground. At that time, he said work would start by the end of the year, but no progress has been made, raising public doubts.

In response, Roche explained: “Where the stadium is built is a critical decision. We want the stadium to be used for over 100 years, so we need time to make the right choice. We ask for understanding, but we must ensure the fundamental decisions are absolutely correct. We have great ambition and sincerely hope this project becomes a reality. My confidence alone is not enough, but based on recent discussions and the support from local government and the board, everyone wants the stadium project to proceed smoothly.”
