Thể Công - Viettel receives a boost ahead of the V-League's return

Recently, Thể Công – Viettel Football Club officially held a signing ceremony to welcome back coach Thạch Bảo Khanh, a distinctive figure deeply connected with the history of the soldier team. This is further good news for the team as Thể Công - Viettel has also just welcomed back Khuất Văn Khang and Công Phươngafter their duties with the Vietnam U23 team at the U23 Asian Championship.

Few know that Thạch Bảo Khanh’s football journey began when he was just 12 years old, taking his first steps on the Cột Cờ field in Hanoi. Thể Công witnessed his growth from a football-enthusiast boy to a talented player who achieved many honors in his playing career. Beyond his role as a player, Thạch Bảo Khanh continued to contribute as a coach, leading youth teams as well as the first team of Thể Công – Viettel at various times.

On this return, coach Thạch Bảo Khanh takes on the role of head of youth training at Viettel Sports Company, part of the Viettel Group. This foundational position directly impacts the future of Thể Công – Viettel club specifically and the pool of players for Vietnamese football generally. With his extensive experience and deep understanding of the club’s tradition, he is expected to bring positive changes to the training system.

After the signing ceremony, coach Thạch Bảo Khanh shared: "The youth teams of Thể Công – Viettel currently have a solid foundation, a strong framework, and a proud tradition. However, on this return, I want to bring about change with new development aligned with modern football trends."

Notably, coach Thạch Bảo Khanh emphasized that change must start from the roots, beginning with the youngest age groups like U13 and U14. Besides focusing on technical and tactical skills, the training system must be improved to encourage young players to develop creativity, initiative, and intelligent game thinking. This approach is seen as suitable to help Thể Công – Viettel’s young talents meet advanced training standards in the region and continent.
