Defender Trần Thị Duyên offered important insights after the Vietnam Women's National Team's friendly against Uzbekistan.
After the first training match with the Uzbekistan women's team (during the period when the opposing team was training in Hanoi), this morning (January 28), the Vietnam Women's National Team continued their training pace to review, adjust technical skills, and improve fitness, aiming for key upcoming goals.
According to the coaching staff's plan, the training session was divided into two groups. Players who played significant minutes in the previous friendly performed light recovery and relaxation exercises. Meanwhile, the other group continued with fitness training combined with tactical drills, focusing on organizing play, transitioning phases, and group coordination as per tactical requirements.
From a player's perspective, defender Trần Thị Duyên said the recent friendly was a crucial start for the whole team to improve fitness, skills, and execute the playing style as instructed by the coaching staff: “Yesterday’s match was the first of this year’s training camp. The whole team is in the process of improving fitness and technical-tactical skills, gradually meeting the coaching staff’s professional requirements.”
Trần Thị Duyên mentioned that head coach Mai Đức Chung gave specific feedback for her to improve in certain situations: “Before training, the coach discussed the match and reminded me of areas I need to improve. He emphasized paying more attention in some attacking support situations and requirements along the flank.”
Regarding the new young players added, Trần Thị Duyên highly praised their training spirit and eagerness to prove themselves: “The young players are all trying hard to show their abilities, actively integrate with the seniors, and have a good fitness foundation.”
According to the plan, the Vietnam Women's National Team will continue training twice daily in the coming period, focusing on improving fitness, refining technical-tactical skills, and enhancing team cohesion to reach the best condition for important upcoming objectives.
