Kuwait’s coach Bruno Garcia described the 4-5 comeback defeat against Vietnam’s futsal team as a crazy match.
Kuwait once held a strong advantage by taking the lead twice, but in the end they had to accept a narrow 4-5 defeat to the Vietnam futsal team. After the match, Kuwait’s coach Bruno Garcia admitted it was an unbelievable contest. The Spanish coach said: “It was truly an emotional and chaotic game. We were ahead by two goals but eventually lost. There is so much to say about what happened on the court.”
Garcia added that in the second half, Kuwait’s players showed greater confidence and pushed hard to bring the game back to an even footing. The Middle Eastern team developed effective attacking strategies, created numerous chances, and at times looked capable of scoring more goals.
“The players competed with high spirit. We knew Vietnam’s futsal team is strong and they played well. However, in my opinion, Kuwait deserved at least a point. That would have been fairer. This was truly a very ‘unusual’ match. Anyway, we must quickly focus on the next game because the tournament has just begun.”, he said.
Although Kuwait put Vietnam’s futsal team under pressure at times, they ultimately left empty-handed. According to coach Bruno Garcia, the biggest difference was in mental toughness. He frankly pointed out that Kuwait’s players lack the strong mindset of their opponents, which is an issue that needs to be addressed soon.
“Mental strength is something we need to improve. Kuwait needs more international match experience. We made some mistakes that cannot be repeated against stronger teams. The whole team must bond and support each other better. This loss provides many valuable lessons,” the Spanish strategist shared.
According to the schedule, in the second round on January 29, Kuwait’s futsal team will face the favorite Thailand, while Vietnam’s futsal team will play against Lebanon.
