Vietnam futsal coach cautious ahead of match against Lebanon

Speaking to the press during the training session on the afternoon of January 28 in preparation for the second match against the Lebanon futsal team, Coach Diego Giustozzi praised the opponent’s defensive organization.

Vietnam’s futsal team defeated Kuwait’s futsal team but admitted that conceding 4 goals is a figure worth reflecting on. However, Coach Diego Giustozzi believes the key point is that the players have scored more goals.

“Things will be better in the upcoming match. I think we were unlucky in finishing. In the game against Kuwait’s futsal team, perhaps we could have scored one or two more goals. Nevertheless, we still have 5 goals. But that is all in the past now. Let’s forget that match and focus on Lebanon and think about how to score against them,” said Diego Giustozzi.

In Lebanon futsal team’s opening match, Coach Diego Giustozzi personally went to the stadium to watch the opponent face Thailand’s futsal team live.Evaluating this team, the Argentine coach said they focus on defense. “They have a very strong defensive team.

They don’t rely on one or two players to make a difference because their attack is tactical/systematic. Possibly, out of 40 minutes, Lebanon defends for 35 minutes. Therefore, I am more concerned about Lebanon’s strategy than individual players,” the Vietnam futsal team’s coach expressed.

In the qualifiers, Vietnam’s futsal team faced this team and won easily with a 4-0 score. Coach Diego Giustozzi said he really wants to repeat that victory but, of course, it won’t be easy. “I want to replicate that win, definitely. If possible, I hope to achieve a similar result. However, this is a different match because they have changed their coach.

Currently, they have a Spanish coach, so I think they are stronger defensively. This will be a very tough match because we all know we don’t like facing teams that defend so solidly. Therefore, this game will require calmness, patience, adaptability, and not giving them any chances,” analyzed the Vietnam futsal team’s coach.
