At noon on January 28th, the Vietnam futsal team arrived at the training ground at GKB Arena to get accustomed to the match time for their second group B match against Lebanon at the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship.
The Vietnam futsal team has matches scheduled at three different times, so the coaching staff chooses training times accordingly to help the players adapt. In their opening match, coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad played at 5:00 PM but will face Lebanon at 1:00 PM on January 29th for their second group match.
Therefore, the Vietnam futsal team decided to start training at 12:30 PM on January 23rd. After a 30-minute commute, the whole team arrived at the GKB Arena training ground at 1:00 PM to work on their skills for about an hour and a half.
Since they had just played the day before, this training session was light. Players who played extensively only performed warm-up exercises and some movement drills. Meanwhile, players who had less playing time were given additional tactical training by coach Diego Giustozzi to ensure smooth execution of their game plan.
At the end of the session, the Vietnam futsal team’s head coach gathered the players on the field to discuss tactics and strategies for the upcoming match against Lebanon. Diego Giustozzi emphasized the need for full concentration, as Lebanon’s performance in their previous match indicates that Vietnam will face a challenging game.
Before the training session began, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Anh Tu spoke to the players, offering encouragement following their last match. He praised the team’s fighting spirit despite being two goals behind, highlighting their successful comeback and eventual victory.
However, Mr. Tran Anh Tu also advised the players to learn from their mistakes to prepare better for the second match. Meanwhile, coach Diego Giustozzi spent some time reviewing the previous game, reminding the team of errors made against Kuwait and instructing them not to repeat those mistakes.
